Personal Experience
Please meet Attorney of the Week Stephanie P. Graham.
The practice of law was a second career for Stephanie who attended college while employed with a major New York bank. Her experience in banking and the loss of a dear friend while working with a NY business litigation firm sparked her interest in probate and estate planning. Her friend died in a North Carolina hospital after a sickle cell episode and the hospital’s statement was “she was going to die young anyway.” Stephanie established the NY probate estate before retaining a formidable NC malpractice firm to take on the lawsuit, never again to tell a family a patient is “going to die anyway.”
After an auto accident a few years later, she relocated to Atlanta and started working with the local district attorney’s office and continued to work in the public sector for the following ten years.
After a personal loss, Stephanie’s interest in estate planning and probate piqued and became her sole reason for attending law school more than 25 years ago.
After seeing her own family struggle, she decided to help other families manage the loss of a loved one and started her own firm shortly thereafter with a mission to educate families about probate, encourage families to have the conversation, and put a plan in place because planning is not for you but for the ones you leave behind.
