Please meet Attorney of the Week, Mythili Thaya. Admitted to the Paris Bar and California State Bar, Mythili is an IP attorney at Arénaire Avocats. She handles complex IP litigation with an emphasis on trademarks, competition/free-riding and remuneration of employee inventions.
Further, she advises her clients on complex IP licensing and related business matters. Notably, Mythili works in various sectors, including luxury and consumer goods as well as fashion and entertainment. I
Inspired by South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of North America, she brought together French lawyers of South Asian heritage to start the Association of South Asian Lawyers – France (ASAL FRANCE). As President of the Association, she is dedicated to supporting the growth of its members, creating ties with sister organizations in North America and expanding the mission and initiatives across Europe.
Mythili is a committed defender of human rights, including specifically in the IP field, where she advocates for fair and loyal procedures (and against greenwashing) in the enforcement of IP rights. Regularly, she volunteers at legal clinics, notably those organized by the Models and Artwork Division of La clinique juridique de l’EFB and the International Trademark Association (INTA)’s Pro Bono Committee. It’s been a pleasure to cross-collaborate with Mythili and build relationships with her network of attorneys across Europe.
