Before joining Dollar Tree, she was Vice President and Associate General Counsel with a national healthcare company. Jess advised C-suite executives and senior leaders on a broad range of legal matters.
Further, she oversaw sensitive investigations and managed single plaintiff and class/collective action litigation. Before that, she worked for Target, where she held leadership roles on the HR and legal teams. As an HR Director, Jess led a team of HR professionals responsible for serving as multi-functional business partners.
As Employee & Labor Relations counsel, she provided day-to-day advice and counsel in addition to important training. Notably, Jess led a team defending single plaintiff and class/collective action employment litigation and resolving government agency charges coast to coast.
Prior to Target, she was Senior Corporate Counsel at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc., where she led the Employee Relations team, oversaw the defense of guest litigation, nationwide agency charges, employment litigation, and arbitration, and managed project initiatives for the company’s multicultural efforts.
Before Cracker Barrel, Jess served as labor & employment counsel for Remington Outdoor Company, Inc. Jess’s longstanding career is remarkable, but she has never lost sight of serving her community and being a stellar mentor to many.
